''Always Keep Your Hands Up...!'' Great Movie, a Big Inspiration For Us All!

Braddock was a good fighter--not a slugger, and probably not a boxer of the caliber of Tunney, Sharkey, Charles, or Patterson; rather, he knew how to fight, how to hold, how to butt, how to counter punch. My father always referred to those skills as "cute."

Probably his greatest win was over Joe Louis--certainly not a pugilistic victory, rather, a financial one. In addition to the Lion's share of the gate, Braddock demanded 10 per cent of all of Louis' title fights (Louis defended his title 41 times). I doubt even Louis wound up with 10 per cent of the purse from those bouts.

My parents were about the same age as Jim and Mae's kids, at that time. It really makes me realize the struggles my grandparents went through to put food on the table. They probably had more of a problem staying cool (than warm) since the lived in Texas. The movie is a true inspiration to me on how if you want something bad enough you can get it by hard work, hope and prayer. I think this movie would be a good educational tool. Some kids don't realize how easy they have it and who they need to thank. thank you Jim and Mae.

WOW! What can you say about this man no one has already heard. I watch this movie 4 to 5 times a week. The life of Jim and Mae Braddock continue to be an inspiration today. The determination and faith this family had gives me strength to never give up and makes me remember that things could always be worse. This family set an example of honesty and integrity. I thank all of you who helped make this story come to life again. Once again "CINDERELLA MAN" has given hope to a new generation. God Bless You!!

My husband and I watched the movie "Cinderella Man", many thanks goes to the family of J.J.Braddock for reliving his ordeals through the depression of the 1930. What an amazing man he was, also his beloved wife Mae who stood by him through all the hard times. The Director Ron Howard did a wonderful job on this film, as did Russell Crowe as the great man himself James J.Braddock. Again to all his family I say God Bless.

Mr. Braddock exemplified the american spirit. A devoted husband, father, and last but not least, a champion. His story should be told more often, and his example should be followed more closely by all.

I have seen the 'Cinderella Man' movie and I really impressed by what Jimmy can do especially between his boxing career and take care his family! Maybe I can say that his life actually reflect the perfect 'American Dream' (even during the Great Depression time). I can say that his life base on the movie teach how is the importance of the family, loyalty to country, friendship and others good morals stories !

We purchased the movie on dvd and loved it. Now when ever it's on cable we watch it where ever it is in the movie. My husband remembers his father talking of Max Baer and James Braddock but he never knew the scope of how he touched america during the depression. Thanks for making the story possible so all the world could experience an inspirational man.

Just watched the movie on HBO. Disgusted with the images of unnecessary civilian deaths on CNN, I casually tuned into the channel this lazy Sunday afternoon and I am extremely glad I did it. Was left with a lasting impression and surely have a different perspective of life now. I knew that the hadrships of life prepare you for better times, but qualities of perseverance & determination pay off so much, that's a take away for me. My hearty kudos to Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger and Ron Howard. Of course their performance would not have been anything without the real life role-model - Jim Braddock. His wife Mae also has proved what the ideal wife is. Thank you both.

Just watched the movie on DVD. Although I always knew that Jimmy was one of boxing's best and didn't realize he overcame so much in the Great Depression and was such a great man and family guy.

What a great man who certainly overcame a lot of adversity! He certainly proved that persistence, integrity and faithfulness to God & Family are the makings of a true man. Great movie but an even greater human being!

It is my opinion that James J Braddock was a great American, a wonderful father and a loving husband. This man did what only you and I could dream of. Even when times were hard, this man stood up and did everything he could to better his family and their way of life! This man seemed to give so much back to the world even though the world was so hard on him and his family.
Why do we as Americans not read about men like this these days? Because...they just don't make them like that any more.
BTW, I have seen the movie "Cinderalla Man" more times then I can remember....and I still shed a tear EVERY time I watch it.

Thank you Mr. Braddock for all that you did for this nation and it's children during a time when we needed a HERO!!
