I just finished watching Cinderella Man. Oh My God what a movie. Russell Crowe's performance as James Bradock was superb. It was hard for me to fight back tears as he barely struggled during the great depresion to keep his family alive and the scene when he asks for a hand out because he was short $18.00 to get the electricity turned back on. Then I see what goes on in America today and it disgusting because most of you don't know how good you all have it. You want to know what pain and striggle is watch this film. It truly is a cinderella story.

I'm in a similar position like Jimmy's. I can't find a job, due to my age. My family is starving and I'm desparate. I saw the film and it touched my heart. I cried for about an hour, but now I feel much stronger. I'll never give up. That's a promise to myself. Braddock will be my lighthouse.

My dad, Robert Mentz, was stationed in New York City from 1941 to 1945 which was during WWII. He mentioned that he and Jim Braddock were in the Army together for a time in New York and that Mr. Braddock was a very nice person.
