Strong, unwavering courage to hold true to values, let alone ferocious opponents in the boxing ring. I am inspired to be a better husband, father and citizen becasue of this movie. I know there are more Jimmy Braddocks out there and in taht I take comfort for the future.

Ron Howard - you have a great gift in telling stories through film - thanks!

I am going on 82 years of age and as a boy in a boarding school with my siblings because of the depression, with father out of work we did not hear the fight late at night and waited for my dad to visit us to tell us the results...We all were interested in the Baer, Braddock,Schmelling. Louis fights in those days..I saw Primo Canera in person in MacDougal Alley, near Washington Sq where my Dad lived...He was a set up for Baer who pulverized the Italian Giant...Canera was a worked in the circus in Italy.

Thank you for allowing your family's story to be shared with the rest of us through Ron Howard's Cinderella Man movie. What blessed children Jimmy and Mae had to have parents who loved them that much. I was glad to read that they have been blessings to their own families as well.

I was mindful how similar my father's life was the same as Braddock..my father was a boxer, as well to putting food on the table..he worked on the railroad and trained when he could and picked up any fight that was available during the same time period of Braddock (in the Jersey City-New York area. What a ethic people had in those days. Family was primary and to provide food for the family during the "depression" was all important. I feel sorry for the X-generation and boomers who now have everything they want...they are missing a great education. The movie is a must see for these groups!!!

I am always thrilled in understanding americans. This man was truly blessed of Allah, he defined being a father, provider and example to the nation during his time. It is really sad alot of men don't understand the importance of a becoming a man in their families and their communities.

Thank you for sharing a true masterpiece on film. What a joy knowing about this legend and his sincere devotion to his family. My father rode in boxcars from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City to see "the fights" (he called them) in Madison Square Garden. He too was a great Dad! He did" whatever ii took" to provide for his five children and wife. Hats off and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Ron Howard and Russell Crowe .

Great website. Believe it or not my grandfather John "Butch" Galvani met him in bar in Paterson NJ many years ago. As the story goes, Mr. Braddock had dropped his wallet as he was getting up from a bar stool and my Grandfather, being an honest gentleman and seeing who it was that had just left, caught up with Mr. Braddock just as he was exiting the pub! The two men shook hands and had a couple of beers on Braddock. That's how my father related the story to me over the years.

It was truly inspirational to see this movie about a man who would go to any lengths against overwhelming odds to preserve his family while maintaining his dignity in such troubling times. I hope that modern day mothers and fathers will take James Braddock's example to heart. One of the best movies I've ever seen. I salute Ron Howard and the entire cast and crew.

Hey! I went to see the movie Cinderella Man the other night. My mother told me a little background information about James J. Braddock, some things I never knew about your family. I really enjoyed the movie, and there were many scenes in the movie where I really felt the emotions in the right place. Whether it was anticipation, sadness, or even empathy for the entire family. It truely is an inspiring story that touched my heart...and I'm sure many people would agree with me.

You can tell from this site especially that James J. Braddock was a really wonderful man, not just as a boxer, but also as a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend. He did whatever it took to make sure his family was taken care and did whatever it took to get him there.

Thank you for keeping the story of Jim Braddock alive. It will live on in everyone's life who hears about his inspiring story. I guess you can say it's his legacy.

Thanks again for sharing this.

I just am home from seeing the movie Cinderella Man. What a wonderful inspiration. Wanted to find out more about this wonderful family and man. I am moved. I hope that the entire cast of the movie did service to your memories as I feel it was a fantastic movie. Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger will surely win Oscars. The children did a great job and the neighbor Sara, played by Mr. Braddock's granddaughter was fantastic! Thank you for sharing your memories...you must be proud. The whole audience at the movies clapped at the end of the movie!

Thanks to the Braddock family and Mr. Howard for this wonderful movie. I hope that the movie was an accurate portrayal. JJ Braddock must have been a true American hero and family man whom all us fathers can only hope to emulate.

God Bless his family and those who keep his memory alive. As a long time boxing fan; I regret that I only, just today, learned of his amazing story.

It was such an inspiration to see how he fought from his heart and for his family. I wanted to know if the family are ever planning to Auction off any personal items of this great fighter? I am sure there are many personal items the family wants to keep but are there items you would want to share with fans since the movie is matking a come back of Mr. Braddock.

Ws the family really close as displayed by the movie and di your parents love each other in a deep rooted way?

What happened to the money left behind from his last figts? Were anyone able to get trust funds from the proceeds of the fights?

I loved this movie. My mom and dad would tell me stories about the depression. I was fortunate to have been born when it was over. I wish young people would go see this movie so they can better understand what people had to endure and that it wasn't always milk and honey. Kudos to the family of James J. Braddock. How proud you must all be. Truly a national hero and a shining example of triumph of the spirit.

This was a great movie. I can't wait to but it on DVD. It really opened my eyes to an era which I had no idea about. I have respect for Mr Braddock for keeping his family together. This movie should have been made a long time ago. I want to go see it again.
